Angela Gheorghiu: Diva For Ever – November 16, 2024

Classical music will experience an exceptional evening on Saturday, 16 November 2024 at the prestigious Smetana Hall (Municipal House) in Prague at 7.30pm.

Known as one of the greatest contemporary sopranos, Angela Gheorghiu, whose voice can be described as lyrical, expressive and powerful, with a distinctive ability to convey a deep emotional range, is renowned for her rich, velvety tone and unique timbre which, combined with her impeccable vocal technique and dramatic interpretation, enable her to captivate and move audiences. Her repertoire, which includes bel canto, verismo and French romantic roles, demonstrates her versatility and mastery of a wide range of genres. Angela Gheorghiu is often praised for her natural musicality and elegance on stage, making her not only an accomplished opera singer, but also a true diva in the original sense.

Sharing the stage with her will be the dazzling tenor Saimir Pirgu, whose clear, brilliant voice excels in lyric tenor roles. He is celebrated for his emotional and sensitive interpretations on the world’s great opera stages.
Under the baton of Maestro Nayden Todorov of the Czech National Orchestra, this encounter between the two voices promises a captivating exchange and a lively moment of emotion for opera lovers.
